Interesting. Hope the title doesn't cause confusion with Mission to Mir!

This weekend I saw a preview in a 35mm theater for a film called Mission to Mars. Has anyone else seen this preview?

Cheri: The trailer that you saw was for Touchstone Pictures "MISSION TO MARS" which opens on 3.10.2000 From acclaimed director Brian De Palma, MISSION TO MARS is a dramatic space adventure starring Gary Sinise, Don Cheadle, Connie Nielsen, Jerry O’Connell, and Tim Robbins. When the first manned mission to Mars meets with a catastrophic and mysterious disaster, a rescue mission is launched to investigate the tragedy and bring back any survivors. M2M will be released through Buena Vista Pictures Distribution as a 35mm release. The trailer is availible at the web site www.movies.go.com/m2m/flash/index.html There are no IMAX plans for this one. This is not a James Cameron film. |

....and then, of course, there was the cheesy old "Mission to Mars" attraction at the old Tomorrowland in Disney World, where your seats rumbled and moved up and down a bit and you looked at circular movie screens on the floor and ceiling. (This ride was gutted and turned into "Alien Encounter", no relation to any IMAX film either.)

I hope that means James Cameron will be looking for a different name for his IMAX film project.
